Good morning, and welcome to His Encouragement Thursday! I don’t know about you, but Thursdays are my struggle day of the week. By Thursday, I have already been working hard at school and at home, and I just wish it would hurry up and be Friday already. LOL! I definitely need a little extra Jesus time on Thursdays.
Trisha, my blogger friend at Joy of Reading, and I decided on calling this post “His Encouragement” because our real source of peace, strength, and security can only come from Jesus Christ. He, and He alone, is our constant! We pray and hope that these Thursday posts become a real encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless!
Today’s Thursday Encouragement comes from:
Psalm 105:1 (ESV)
Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon His Name; make known His deeds among the peoples!
Today, I want to shout God’s praises!
For those of you who know me, or who have read my blog for some time, you know that my best friend has been battling a very rare cancer. It’s so rare that most everything she’s done to combat this evil disease has been a guess. It has been a very scary ride.
Nine weeks ago, she began a new treatment because her previous treatment seemed to have plateaued. This new treatment plan in a mix of three chemos and an antibody, plus a shot of something after every other treatment. I don’t really understand it all, but it seems to be working. It appears that she is starting to heal. And, the most miraculous to me is she hasn’t stopped working at all. Except for treatment days, she is at work. She is a full-time teacher, mother, wife, and friend. She truly does not let cancer get in her way. My best friend is my inspiration. I see God working through her EVERY single day. It is a beautiful thing to witness His strength in action.
Today, my post is simple. I am making known God’s deeds among the peoples. I don’t know how much time any of us have left on this earth. But, I do know that every day God hears prayers. I don’t know how much time I will get with my best friend, but I know for a fact that God is here with her, with her family and friends, and with me as we all go through this crazy time together. God is SO good.
Thank You, Lord, for the gift of more quality time…
