Thursday Encouragement

His Encouragement #34

CollageMaker_20180228_162151023.jpgGood morning, and welcome to His Encouragement Thursday! I don’t know about you, but Thursdays are my struggle day of the week. By Thursday, I have already been working hard at school and at home, and I just wish it would hurry up and be Friday already. LOL! I definitely need a little extra Jesus time on Thursdays.

Trisha, my blogger friend at Joy of Reading, and I decided on calling this post “His Encouragement” because our real source of peace, strength, and security can only come from Jesus Christ. He, and He alone, is our constant! We pray and hope that these Thursday posts become a real encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless!

Today’s Thursday Encouragement comes from:

Isaiah 26:3-4 (ESV)

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.

I couldn’t decide on a good verse to share this week — I mean they’re all good, right?! So, I decided on sharing two…

The first verse, Isaiah 26:3, is a great verse because it reminds me where I need to keep my focus. It’s so easy in this day and age to lose sight of what is truly important. We are constantly inundated by social media and the obviously skewed-to-one-side news reports on TV. Our jobs, while totally important and necessary, can divert our focus faster than we can blink. And, our wonderful families and friends can get us off course, too. All that we cram into a day — most incredibly beneficial and huge blessings to our lives — can get us to forget our purpose. In all the mess of daily life, I admit that I have forgotten God. Maybe I didn’t write in my prayer journal, or I forgot my Bible study for the day, or I didn’t listen to that sermon my husband shared with me. I just didn’t have time that day. God could wait on the back-burner, right? Isaiah 26:3 is a great reminder that when our minds (and hearts) focus on God, when we trust in Him, He will keep us in perfect peace. Every time we choose other things before God — even our families — we are detaching ourselves from His peace. I don’t know about you, but I truly cannot afford to be detached from God’s peace anymore. I need to make a better effort in my relationship with God.

The second verse is one of my most favorite attributes to God’s character. I love that He is our eternal rock. For forever, God will be there for us. What a beautiful, encouraging promise from our heavenly Father. God is SO good to us!!!
