HIS Encouragement #11

Good morning, and welcome to His Encouragement Thursday! I don’t know about you, but Thursdays are my struggle day of the week. By Thursday, I have already been working hard at school and at home, and I just wish it would hurry up and be Friday already. LOL! I definitely need a little extra Jesus time on Thursdays.

Trisha, my blogger friend at Joy of Reading, and I decided on calling this post “His Encouragement” because our real source of peace, strength, and security can only come from Jesus Christ. He, and He alone, is our constant! We pray and hope that these Thursday posts become a real encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless!

Today’s Thursday Encouragement comes from:

Psalms 105:1 (ESV)

Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon His Name; make known His deeds among the peoples!

1515627351373_image.jpgAs many of you know, the past year has been rather stressful. My best friend was diagnosed with a really scary cancer, and I have watched (rather helplessly) as she has gone to doctor appointments, lab appointments, scan appointments, treatments, infusion sessions, etc. I have watched the tumors grow, I have watched her spirits sink, and I have watched her anger and frustration levels rise. I have hugged her, cried with her, and listened as she vented. I have done anything and everything I know to do to help her through this time. I’ve driven her to appointments, picked up her son from band practices, and helped subs in her classroom when she was out for treatment. I pray for her when I first wake up, I pray throughout the day, I pray after we finish talking, I pray at night with my daughter, and I pray before I go to bed. About a month ago, things seemed scary…really, really scary. I started to wonder if my prayers were even working. Was God hearing me? Was I saying the right things? Was it not God’s will to heal her? I was getting really sad and my helplessness knew no bounds.

And then, Tuesday happened!!!!

PRAISE JESUS. PRAISE HIS GLORIOUS NAME!!!

This past Tuesday, my BFF went to her weekly infusion session. She also did a new set of scans. It was a long and exhausting day for her, but her doctor gave her really good news. No more cancer spots in her lungs, and the tumors have shrunk 50%. It seems like they have found the treatment that will work for her! This is all Jesus!!! 100,000% God’s doing. I am so grateful.

God’s timing is perfect timing. And, God’s will is a perfect will. I know that one day things may change for my best friend and she may be totally healed, or she may be called home to Jesus. But for today, God has heard my cries and has granted me, her family, and her friends even more time with her. My heart is SO full for Jesus that I can’t help but praise Him with my whole being. God is a good, good Father and He truly does hear us.

I am so grateful to you, too, my dear blogger readers and friends. I pray God blesses you all tremendously on this Thursday!
