  1. Daniel Glick moved into his new place on the first Tuesday in October. The next day, the local bishop – an old fellow named Saul Lapp who looked to be in his eighties – gave him a ride to Tim Beiler’s place. Tim was apparently the go-to place in Shipshewana, Indiana, if one was looking to purchase a buggy horse.

  2. Grace Miller stepped cautiously across the lopsided porch of the old cabin, a deep sense of doom hanging over her small shoulders like a dark cloud.-Christmas Grace by Mindy Steele 🙂

  3. My book is The Heart of a Cowboy by Jody Hedlund:
She was going to drown. The Neosho River wrapped its cold fingers around Linnea Newberry and pulled her down.

  4. I’m looking forward to reading this one! I’m currently reading Deadly Target by Elizabeth Goddard. The first line is: “Puget Sound – For a few hours every Saturday morning, Erin Larson could forget evil existed.” Happy weekend!

      1. Taken from LUNCH COUNTER, a love remembered.
        Change was coming.
It was incremental at first, but it was not long before it reached a
tipping point, beyond which it became a growing trend, an almost
irresistible current. Like a wave, it had washed down the street. And
just as a receding wave leaves assorted flotsam scattered across the
beach, now on the lawn in front of almost every house stood a FOR
        SALE sign.
