About the Book

Prologue

Late May 1919

Emmaline Moore stepped up to the ship’s railing and peered through the mist to catch her first glimpse of the Nova Scotia shoreline now becoming visible. It was a most welcome sight after a week at sea.

Isn’t the cover stunning? I love the color scheme — the purple dress, the purple flowers, the gorgeous skyline. It’s such a lovely cover! Totally draws me in and makes me want to read the book.

I love Mason’s novels. They are so good. If you haven’t read her Courage to Dream series I HIGHLY recommend it. Anyway, I am super excited to get to read this book. Check back soon for my review.

  1. From EVERY BREATH by Nicholas Sparks: “On the morning of September 9, 1990, Tru Walls stepped outside and surveyed a morning sky that was the color of fire near the horizon.”

  2. Happy Friday! My first line is from “Remember Me” by Marion Ueckermann:

“Seated cross-legged on the floor of her bedroom with her two best friends, Clarise Aylward leaned forward and lit the candles on the birthday cake her mom had made for them.

  3. Sounds like a good book!

My First Line is, “The wail of a ship’s whistle jerked Anna Wilson from sleep despite the cotton wadding she’d shoved in her ears before bed.”

This is from The Great Lakes Lighthouse Brides Collection by multiple authors.

    Have a wonderful weekend!

    Blessings~ 💖

  4. Shanna Stolzfus felt something brush against her hair, just above her left ear. She swatted at it. When she touched flesh, she jumped her attempts to pray forgotten, and raised her head from the steering wheel to see maple-stained fingers, complete with calluses and a small cut.

  5. Happy Friday! I’m featuring Beauty in Battle by Robin Patchen today. Here is the first line from Chapter Nine:

“This is it?” Jack peered at the rusty sign hung from the front of a rundown brick building.
