A Bound Heart

About the Book
Nae man can tether time or tide. –Robert Burns
Isle of Kerrera, Scotland, 1752
As the sun slid from the sky, Lark pressed her back into the pockmarked cliff on the island’s west shore. The sea stretched before her like an indigo coverlet, a great many foam-flecked waves tossing gannets about. A south wind tore at her unbound hair, waving it like a crimson flag, as crimson as the fine cloth she’s seen smuggled ashore the previous night. These free-trading times were steeped in danger. Countless moonlit liaisons and trysts. Sand-filled shoes and sleepless nights. How oft she’d prayed an end to it all.
I LOVE THIS BOOK! I am already to chapter 10, and I did that in like a few minutes (it feels like). I am trying so hard to read this book slowly so I can savor it, but the pages are flying by!
Definitely check back soon to read my review of this wonderful story! It’s another home run by Laura Frantz.
My first line is from Chapter 16 of Flights of Fancy by Jen Turano:
Catching the biscuits on fire was most assuredly not the best way of honoring her promise to keep the house from burning to the ground.
This Laura Frantz one looks great!

Grief and guilt are the ghost that haunt you when you survive what others do not. Mercy Carr survived, and so did Sergeant Martinez’s dog.

Hana! Hearing her name, Hana left her cousins and ran toward the canvas canopy where Uncle Anwar sat peeling an orange with a well-worn pocketknife – Chosen People – Robert Whitlow.

Happy Friday! My first line is from “Through the Shadows” by Karen Barnett:
“Elizabeth King held her fingers against the ivory keys, refusing to stir as the final chord faded and silence descended on the parlor.”

Happy Friday and Happy New Year!
My first lines come from Home For Christmas by Holly Chamberlin…..
It was the eleventh of December, a crisp winter day with not a cloud in the sky to threaten rain or snow. Nell King shivered as she came down the stairs from the second floor and into the living room.
Have a great weekend and happy reading!😊🎆💕

On my blog, I’m featuring The Christmas Bride. I know Christmas is over, but this book was really good, I just had to share it. It’s about the Moravian community that I knew next to nothing about. It’s a fascinating love story. Here, I will share the first line of Chapter 29 of that same novel. “Catherine heard the savage Indians long before she saw them.” I wish you a wonderful weekend to relax and read.
