His Encouragement #274

Welcome to His Encouragement Thursday! I don’t know about you, but Thursdays are my struggle day of the week. By Thursday, I have already been working hard at school and at home, and I just wish it would hurry up and be Friday already. LOL! I definitely need a little extra Jesus time on Thursdays.

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. And no creature is hidden from His sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. — Hebrews 4:12-13 (CSB)

Everyone knows Hebrews 4:12. It’s probably one of the most popular verses in the entire Bible.

What I want to focus on today is verse 13.

Verse 13 is as follows: “And no creature is hidden from His sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.”

Creature is defined in the dictionary as an animal or a person. So, verse 13 can more completely be read as, “And no ‘animal or person’ is hidden from His sight…”

I love verse 13. It teaches me a lot about God. First, God is always watching His creations, both animal and human alike. Second, not one single thing on this planet is hidden from God. God knows where everyone and every thing is. Even if a human thinks he has hidden something from God, God knows where it is. Third, everything I think, do, and say is naked and exposed before God’s very eyes. Fourth, and final, God knows everything because one day I will have to stand before Him and give account for my life.

Because I know that one day I will stand before Yahweh and give account for my life — the things I’ve thought, the things I’ve said, and the things I’ve done — I know that making things up, exaggerating events, lying, hiding the truth because it’s uncomfortable, etc., are useless things to do. God already knows everything. God already saw the events play out. God heard everything. Hiding and lying are futile because God already knows. He always discerns our thoughts and the intentions of our hearts.

Dear reader, remember this day that God sees you for EXACTLY who you are. To Him, your inner workings are laid bare to Him. He hears your thoughts. He hears your words. God knows your heart and mind. These are all facts. But what is also a fact is that God is not an invasive entity. He is not trying to get up in your business and destroy your privacy. Rather, He is a good Father doing all He can to know His kid. If you’re struggling in ANY area take it all to God. He’s waiting to talk to you right this minute. Right now, you can take your stuff to God spiritually, but one day soon you will be able to stand before God and give your account just like Job did. It’s useless to hide from God, so don’t!
