Welcome to His Encouragement Thursday! I don’t know about you, but Thursdays are my struggle day of the week. By Thursday, I have already been working hard at school and at home, and I just wish it would hurry up and be Friday already. LOL! I definitely need a little extra Jesus time on Thursdays.
[God’s] divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us to His own glory and excellence, by which He has granted to us His precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.

I fully admit that I want to escape this earth. It is completely deranged and makes ZERO sense to me. Abortions, men in women’s spaces, school shootings, hourly fentanyl overdoses, homelessness abounding, lying, deceiving leaders people follow like salivating zombies, wars and rumors of wars, gross inflation that never had to happen, depleting food sources, child trafficking, abuse, slander, libel, gaslighting…and more. It’s all disgusting and so unsafe and so evil.
Today, our society has fully embraced evil and they call it good, they have clothed themselves in absolute darkness and they demand it be called light, and they have consumed bitterness by the tonnage and they delusionally insist it is sweet (Isaiah 5:20). And many, many people — including many Christians — follow this society wholeheartedly. They abusively scream at those who are desperate to get people to wake-up to the truth of what is actually happening. It’s exhausting. It’s depressing. It’s enough to make some want to just give up — “Fine, believe what you want, do what you want, you crazies!”
How do those who are not deceived stay strong? How do we, as Paul states in Hebrews 12, “run with endurance the race that is set before us”?
The answer is simple. We escape.
We escape, as Peter says in 2 Peter 1, by running to God’s Word and immersing ourselves in God’s promises. We come to KNOW the One who calls us to Him. Every day, when we choose to be in our Bibles studying God’s whole, beautiful, and perfect Word, when we choose to KNOW and relate to Him, when we actively choose God and not this earth, then He allows us a way to escape the evilness, the corruption, and the decay of this earth. In this way, every day can be a sort of rapture for Yeshua’s Bride.
Think about the last time you were struggling hard with this crazy world. Did you go to your Bible? Did you go to prayer? Did you get all your “ugh” feelings out to God? Then didn’t you feel better, stronger, more secure in who God is and His promises? I don’t know about you, but every single time I go to God and His Word with my sadness, anger, frustration, disgust, distrust, cowardice, fears, etc., He makes me feel better. And if I am really honest, I do escape this world when I am in God’s Word. I get so wrapped up in what I am studying that the cares of this world just vanish.
God is SO good that He has made it possible, while on this earth, to escape the very ugly evils of this day and all we have to do is come to Him.
Yeshua, I pray a massive thank You for dying on that cross, for defeating death, and rising from the dead, so that I — so that we — can go to God directly via prayer and the Word in order to escape this present insanity. I am truly, truly grateful to You for Your sacrifice and Your promises. I pray that everyone reading this post today is filled with confidence in these Truths. I pray Your strength and love upon them all. And I pray they all are able to endure the race you have personally set before them today. AMEN and AMEN!

I love that you encourage us to escape into the Bible. The world has gone crazy because they are doing what was happening in the days of the judges…everyone is doing what is right in his own eyes because they have no moral compass. Romans says, “And professing themselves wise, they became as fools.” God knows the truth and these foolish people are in denial. Thank you for the Scripture verse and the few minutes of escape.

I’ve always struggled with the idea of being “in the world but not of the world.” My instinct has always been to gather my family and hide them away in the remotest cabin I can find to keep us all safe. Of course, that’s not realistic. The trick is to live in the world but not let it get you down. I feel like trying to be like God helps me to have the perspective, strength, compassion, and grace to live in this world every day without just totally giving up. My favorite scripture verse is actually from the Doctrine and Covenants (which Mormons believe is scripture right along with the Bible). It says: “Look unto me in every thought; doubt not, fear not.” When I look to Him, it helps me to stay strong in my faith, even when it’s tough 🙂
