My Thoughts

Assisting My Brother’s Best Friend by Judy Corry is a sweet Contemporary Romance that I enjoyed. I recently finished reading a novel that absolutely walloped my heart, so I was looking for something I could just escape into and not fear demolishing my emotions. This Romance was exactly what I needed. The characters are endearing and relatable. Poor Drew…nothing ever seems to go his way. I know that’s a crazy thing to say about a billionaire, but it is true. He constantly puts himself out there and life just has other plans. Sometimes this was silly and made me laugh, but mostly I just wanted to hug him. What I love the most about his character is his selflessness. He is so down to earth. Fame and fortune have not turned him into a self-centered egotist. He puts Kate and her needs first even if that means he loses out in the end, and he genuinely wants what is best for her. I love this! Speaking of Kate, she, too, is a great character. My heart went out to her and all she has had to overcome. I like that she isn’t someone who dwells in her rough past, but does all she can to make her present and future the best it can be. As far as the romance goes, this book is perfect. There is a great blend of sizzling chemistry and swoony kisses, but it is 100% clean. In fact, Drew is saving himself until marriage. I really, really love that aspect of the book. I’ve read many books where the heroine chooses to stay chaste until marriage, but I’ve not really read any books where the hero takes this stand. It’s refreshing to read a story where the hero is a man of actual principles and morals. I admit this made Drew all the more handsome and wonderful to me. Finally, I really like the way Corry utilizes the Bachelor/Bachelorette trope. It’s quite unique with some interesting twists that kept me turning pages well past midnight. All in all, Assisting My Brother’s Best Friend is a good read and I am glad that I read it. I was entertained the whole way through. If you’re in the mood for a sweet Contemporary Romance to escape into then I recommend checking out this fun story!

I purchased a copy of this novel in eBook form from Amazon.com on March 9, 2023, in order to review. In no way has this influenced my review. The opinions expressed in this review are my own.
