Welcome to another Top Ten Tuesday post. This week’s topic is Bookish People I’d Like to Meet.

I live in Southern California, very close to Hollywood. I actually live minutes away from where they film many TV shows that have been popular in the past or are popular now. I have seen my fair share of Hollywood stars, sports celebrities, and musicians. I don’t get giddy when I see “famous” people. BUT I get super nervous and fan-girly when I meet authors.

Many years ago, when we were first dating, my husband took me on a date to meet the actors of the TV show Castle. It was fun. The actors were all sweet and happily signed my copy of the latest Castle novel. I still have my signed copy today! But what sent me into a fit of excitement was that I unknowingly spoke to the creator and lead-writer of the show for an hour. I didn’t know he was the creator of the show at first. I just thought he was another fun fan of TV who also loved literature. He wasn’t anywhere near the actors. He was just a guy hanging out in a random aisle of the bookstore we were in. My husband and I thought we were just being friendly talking to a fellow book lover. Until we got to more personal info like names and what we did for a living. When he told us he created Castle, I immediately got giddy.

Maybe it’s goofy, but to me authors are celebrities. So this week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic is near and dear to my heart. I love meeting with authors. To me, it is a super special gift. I have met several authors in person, so my list today will be authors I haven’t yet met. And, yes, some of these people will have to wait until I get to Heaven. LOL!

1. Laura Frantz — she is my favorite storyteller. I love her books. And I love her. She is one of the sweetest ladies ever. She is a hoot to communicate with via email and messenger. One day I hope to meet her in person.
2. Becky Wade — I love her stories, and I love reviewing her books. What has always impressed me about Becky is her genuineness. Every single time I post anything in support of her books — review posts, graphics, spotlights, etc. — she always thanks me. I think that is super cool that she notices my support. And this makes me want to support her even more.
3. Tamera Alexander — she is a font of historical knowledge. The conversations we could have would be fascinating.
4. Carolyn Miller — I have been a fan since her very first book published in 2017. I love her books and she is a genuinely lovely lady. It would be fun to meet her for a cup of tea and some good book talk!
5. Emily C. Childs — I have recently discovered Childs’s novels. They are so good. I follow her via her newsletter and social medias, and she seems like a really fun person to know. I think it would be fun to get lunch with this author and discuss all things Contemporary Romance.
6. Jasper Fforde — he is one seriously creative storyteller. I adore his Thursday Next series. I think Fforde would be such a fun guy to talk to. The conversation would definitely never get boring!
7. Charlotte Bronte — Jane Eyre is my most favorite novel ever and because of that I absolutely would love to meet Charlotte Bronte. She would be fascinating to talk to.
8. Laura Ingalls Wilder — her Little House series was one of my most favorite sets of books when I was a little girl. I read and re-read those books so often my copies are near falling apart. (I actually still have my original copies!) Getting to talk with Wilder would be so fun! It would make my little girl heart so happy.
9. Caroline Keene — When I was four, I asked my mom to teach me how to read because I was tired of waiting on my parents to read to me. My mom taught me letters and I figured out the rest. By the end of Kindergarten I was reading at a 4th grade reading level. Reading was my thing! But my teachers wouldn’t let me read at my level. They wanted me to stay at my grade level. That was torture to me, so I stopped reading. I hated it until I was 9. When I was 9, my aunt — who was a teacher — asked why I stopped reading. I told her. She got mad at my teachers and then took me to a bookstore where she purchased me a copy of a Nancy Drew novel. I devoured it in one day, and it got me back to enjoying reading again. I would love to meet Keene to thank her for her books and for getting me to love reading again.
10. William Shakespeare — I mean, who wouldn’t want to meet Shakespeare? His works changed the world, and still do today. He would be utterly fascinating to listen to. The stories he could tell!
