He’s a hot high school chemistry teacher living in a small town. She’s a globetrotting journalist running from her past. They used to be best friends. Then one kiss changes everything.
Kate Fletcher is my kryptonite.
She’s also my best friend. Former best friend?
I’m not sure what you call it when we grew up attached at the hip and then she left Silver Creek (and me) to travel the world.
The important thing is: Kate is back. (Temporarily.)
And I’m still in love with her. (Permanently.)
But something is different now. The attraction doesn’t seem one-sided. I don’t think I’m imagining the heat in Kate’s eyes or the chemistry crackling between us.
But will that be enough to keep Kate here, when, for as long as I can remember, all she’s wanted to do is leave?
I’m determined to give her a reason to stay. Family. Connection. Roots. And me. I’ll have to start with sparks and fire, but if I take this step, there’s no turning back to simple friendship. And if she doesn’t feel the same way, I might lose her again—this time for good.
How to Kiss Your Best Friend is a sweet romantic comedy with all the crackling chemistry and sizzling kisses you want in a closed-door romance but no explicit scenes.
I absolutely enjoyed my time reading How to Kiss Your Best Friend by Jenny Proctor. I’ve recently read and reviewed (and loved) Eloise and the Grump Next Door by Emma St. Clair and Jenny Proctor. That book is absolutely delightful. If you’ve not yet read it, I implore you to do so ASAP. I’ve been a big fan of St. Clair for a while now, but until Eloise and the Grump Next Door I had never heard of Jenny Proctor. So, I decided to check her books out and How to Kiss Your Best Friend jumped out at me as a book I had to get my hands on. My last few review books have been seriously heavy reads. I was dying for something sweet and funny and romantic. Something that would grab my attention at page one and not let go until the end, AND help me escape all the hardness that is real life. Something with characters I could love and maybe relate to a little. How to Kiss Your Best Friend totally delivered. Kate Fletcher is a great heroine. She is highly intelligent, adventurous, and independent. She doesn’t need anyone. But she is also flawed. Kate is a runner. Instead of staying in one place long enough to fix problems when they rear their ugly heads, Kate flees. And she’s so worried she’ll end up like her parents she refuses to enter long-term, lasting relationships with anyone. Over the course of this story, Kate grows up a bit and learns to listen to her heart. If Kate is a great heroine, then Brody is the perfect hero for a gal like Kate. Brody is HOT! Yes, he’s physically hot, but his true hotness actually comes from his intelligence, his need to protect and keep others safe, and his selflessness. I love how he always sacrifices himself for whatever he thinks is in Kate’s best interest. But he isn’t someone who will let a person walk all over him, including Kate. Brody has a serious backbone and he’s not afraid to assert himself when it’s necessary. I really love both Kate’s and Brody’s characters, and I especially love how their relationship grows into something deep and real. And the chemistry between the two…wowie! Talk about steamy. All in all, How to Kiss Your Best Friend was definitely the sweet, Rom-Com read I needed this past week.
How to Kiss Your Best Friend is a great Contemporary Romance that I highly recommend. If you enjoy reading sweet Romances where long-term best friends become more then this is definitely the book for you!
