Welcome to His Encouragement Thursday! I don’t know about you, but Thursdays are my struggle day of the week. By Thursday, I have already been working hard at school and at home, and I just wish it would hurry up and be Friday already. LOL! I definitely need a little extra Jesus time on Thursdays.
Thus says the Lord: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart turns away from the Lord.”
Jeremiah 17:5 (ESV)
Don’t put your faith, your trust, in man. There is no president, politician, doctor, scientist, activist, influencer, podcaster, or billionaire on this planet who will stand up and save humans from the evil that is pouring out into the world today.
God is especially clear in Jeremiah 17:5 — if you choose to put your faith in man, you will be cursed. Our strength comes from God and God alone. In fact, there is only ONE name that can save. According to Acts 4:12, “Salvation is found in no one else. For there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved” and that name is Jesus Christ.
In Luke 21, Jesus tells his disciples how things will look in the end days. It’s not pretty. In all honestly, chapter 21 can freak me out. But then I get to verse 28 where Jesus says, “When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.” Ladies and gentlemen, I believe we are in the “stand up, look up” time.
Today, put your faith in Jesus, draw your strength from God, and look up!
Well said. Thank you Nicole! 🙂
