Miss Daphne Beekman is a mystery writer by day, inquiry agent by night. However, Daphne soon finds herself in the thick of an attempted murder case she’s determined to solve.

Mr. Herman Henderson is also a mystery writer, but unlike the dashing heroes he pens, he lives a quiet life, determined to avoid the fate of his adventurous parents, who perished on an expedition when he was a child. But when he experiences numerous attempts on his life, he seeks out the services of the eccentric Bleecker Street Inquiry Agency to uncover the culprit. All too soon, Herman finds himself stepping out of the safe haven of his world and into an adventure he never imagined.

As the list of suspects grows and sinister plots are directed Daphne’s way as well, Herman and Daphne must determine who they can trust and if they can risk the greatest adventure of all: love.

My Thoughts

I genuinely love every book I have ever read by Jen Turano, but To Write a Wrong is my absolute favorite to date. This book is excellent. This is another one of those stories I just couldn’t put down. The pacing is superb. I really love how Turano crafts her dialogue — always so witty and funny and so fast-paced. I chuckled the whole way through this marvelous story. The mystery is fun, too. I thoroughly enjoyed watching as a household full of best-selling mystery authors work to figure out what’s going on with Herman and determine who Daphne truly is. It’s fun to see authors plan and research and discourse. I feel like Turano gives us readers a sort of picture of what it’s like when authors get together and plot. There is SO much to love about this book, but for me, I would have to say it’s the characters who I enjoyed the most. Herman is a spectacular hero. He’s literally my dream guy — creative, erudite, attentive, and protective. I love how he pays close attention to the details, how he sees Daphne for the gem she is, and how his innate protectiveness arises whenever Daphne is in any sort of trouble. When a man is willing and able to destroy the thing that hurt his girl, like an instinct he can’t stop, my heart melts. A protective man is so swoonalicious to me. Daphne is marvelous in her own right. She is SO funny and courageous (even though she doesn’t think so) and bold. And, I love how her mind works … she’s all over the place, but it really does make sense what she comes up with. I also enjoy her feistiness, her fire, her fight. She’s amazing, and she is the perfect heroine to Herman’s hero!

To Write a Wrong by Jen Turano is another Historical Rom-Com masterpiece. I loved every minute spent with this story and I cannot wait to get to book 3. If you are in the mood for a delightfully funny and super sweet Historical Romance, definitely make sure to add this book to your TBR list. You won’t be disappointed you did!

I received a review copy of this novel in eBook form from the publisher, Bethany House Publishers, via NetGalley. In no way has this influenced my review. The opinions expressed in this review are my own.
