His Encouragement #141

Welcome to His Encouragement Thursday! I don’t know about you, but Thursdays are my struggle day of the week. By Thursday, I have already been working hard at school and at home, and I just wish it would hurry up and be Friday already. LOL! I definitely need a little extra Jesus time on Thursdays.

Trisha, my blogger friend at Joy of Reading, and I decided on calling this post “His Encouragement” because our real source of peace, strength, and security can only come from Jesus Christ. He and He alone is our constant! We pray and hope that these Thursday posts become a real encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless!

Today’s Thursday Encouragement:

God is not man, that He should lie, or a son of man, that He should change His mind. Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not fulfill it?
Numbers 23:19 (ESV)

God is not man that He should lie.

God. Doesn’t. Lie.

If God said He will do something, it will get done.

What humans struggle with is God’s timing. But this is a human issue, not a God issue.

Perhaps you’ve been praying and praying and praying lately, but nothing seems to be happening. There’s just silence. Maybe you’re asking yourself, “Am I praying wrong? Am I using the wrong words?” Maybe you’re on your last nerve and the anger is boiling and you’re tempted to yell at God because nothing is happening. Maybe you’re starting to doubt a little, wondering silently to yourself, “God, are You even there?”

I get it! Seriously, NO judgement here. There have been many days lately where I have cried out to God, “Lord, I believe, help me with my unbelief!” I’ve literally teared up because the thing I’m praying for just keeps moving in a negative way when really all I need right now is a good, solid move in the positive.

Here’s the thing. God doesn’t lie. He can’t. So, if He says in Jeremiah 29:11, “I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope,” then He means it. God has a plan — a very carefully crafted plan — for your life and the lives of your loved ones. His plan, ultimately, leads to the best future.

Perhaps our prayers aren’t being answered because we aren’t praying the right things. Perhaps our prayers are based on what we think we, or our loved ones, need. Perhaps we aren’t listening to God, or perhaps our wills aren’t lined up to His.

This week, dear reader, I implore you to grab your Bible. Study God’s Word and really get into a line of communication with Him. See if your wills match up. Are you on His path, or are you leaning on your own understanding? Maybe God is trying to tell you, “Not yet”? Through it all, remember that God doesn’t lie. If He says He’s got a good plan for you and your future, believe Him. God’s pretty faithful and constant!

NOW, IT’S YOUR TURN!
