His Encouragement #128

Welcome to His Encouragement Thursday! I don’t know about you, but Thursdays are my struggle day of the week. By Thursday, I have already been working hard at school and at home, and I just wish it would hurry up and be Friday already. LOL! I definitely need a little extra Jesus time on Thursdays.

Trisha, my blogger friend at Joy of Reading, and I decided on calling this post “His Encouragement” because our real source of peace, strength, and security can only come from Jesus Christ. He and He alone is our constant! We pray and hope that these Thursday posts become a real encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless!

Today’s Thursday Encouragement comes from:

I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept My Word and have not denied My Name.

Revelation 3:8b (ESV)

In Revelation 3:8, Jesus speaks to the church of Philadelphia. He says, “I know that you have but little power.” I LOVE this line so much because it proves unequivocally that Jesus SEES His people. Think about it. How does Jesus know we don’t have any power if He isn’t looking? The truth is, dear reader, that Jesus sees us all the time every day. Nothing gets past Him.

Life is deranged right now. It really does feel like we’ve entered an upside-down world where literal bad is seen and praised as good and real good is seen and degraded as bad. I have no power against any of this, and it is totally frustrating. Except, I can control how I react. I feel like we Christians are at a major crossroads right now. It is true that we really do have very little power on this earth. So, how will we choose to react to this powerlessness? Will we choose Jesus? Will we stand by His Word and exalt His Name? Or will we choose to be a part of the screaming insanity? Will we give into fear and anger and craziness?

Today, I want to leave you with God’s Words from Isaiah. They are powerful and fully encouraging, and I pray they leave you feeling stronger in Jesus Christ. Because while we may not have power on this earth, we do have direct access to the Savior of this World, and I think that is pretty darn powerful if I say so myself!

Fear not, for I Am with you; be not dismayed, for I Am your GOD; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

Isaiah 41:10 (ESV)

We may not have much power in ourselves, but that’s OK because our power comes from Jesus. If you are struggling today, dear reader, for any reason go to God. He promises to be with you. He promises to strengthen you and uphold you. You are His kid and He’s got you in the palm of His hand!
