This week’s question is:

What is one non-reading goal you’ve set for 2020?

I’m not a goal setter. I’m a to-do-list maker. So this question is a little difficult for me to answer. Suffice to say, I do have one spiritual goal that I have been working on since I was a little girl — to not be fearful.

I’m a scaredy cat. I have been since I was a child. I also have OCD and dreadful, fearful, fatalistic thoughts are a symptom of my OCD. Yay for me! I have to work VERY hard every day NOT to succumb to fear, and I am only successful when I spend time with God. Every single day I make sure to spend quality time with Jesus. Missing a day is not an option for me. If I miss time with Jesus I feel weak and vulnerable and open to the fear. But when I read my Bible and pray, I feel God’s peace and power to make it through another day. God truly is my shield.

  2. To try and get some crafting projects finished. I did one today! I had a quilted wall hanging that needed to haveca finished border put on it and I Did it!.
    We were looking for a house on line ( 51 years married and NEVER owned a house.) …. well we looked at three houses on Monday morning and picked one! God sure works fast! They accepted our offer by 5:00 p.m.! It was built by the developer of a subdivision for his mother and has had approximately 3 owners. The last owners had to sell because the wife has cancer. Please pray for them.
    We have the inspection on Thursday and close Aug 3! I thought I would never never have a house of my own! Miracles do exist! Praise God!

    1. Oh my goodness! Congratulations, Paula. This is such great news. God is good. I hope you have the best time decorating your new home. I’m sorry to hear about the former owners. Cancer is AWFUL! I hate it. And, yay for getting your crafting project finished. I bet it looks great!

  4. Yes. I totally understand your thoughts and where you are coming from!! I hate that we still have fleshly thoughts and fears. But one day we won’t!! Amen for that 🙂

  5. Time and time again I have lerned that God is with us, all we have to do is ask- then we need fear no evil. I set 20 goals at the start of 2020- 19 were non reading- some have had to be dropped because of Covid 19- a strange year for sure.
