About the Book

“Bloody lipstick.” Kathleen Whitford yanked a handkerchief from her handbag and rubbed off the uneven line of Sequin Red curving over her lip. Angling her gold compact mirror to the streetlight, she swiped the red tube over her mouth again. “Can’t meet the Nazis with smeared lips.”

  1. Happy Friday!

I hope you ended up enjoying The Socialite! I personally didn’t love this one, but everyone else I’ve heard from seems to have had a great experience with it.

My first line I’m featuring on my blog this week comes from Carolina Breeze by Denise Hunter:

“Before she even opened her eyes Mia Emerson knew it was going to be the worst day of her life.”

Hope you have a great rest of your weekend 🙂

  2. Over on my blog I’m featuring Pretending to Wed by Melissa Jagears. Here I’ll share the first line from chapter six of the same book.
“Setting buckets under the well pump, Nolan started to fill them and squinted at the wagon coming down the road.”

  3. The book I’m sharing on my blog is my current read, a devotional by Ravi Zacharias, The Logic of God. Here I will share the first line in chapter three: With the numerous religions in the world, how can Christians claim exclusivity?

  5. Happy Friday! My first line is from “Grand Encounters” by Jen Turano:

“I know you mentioned you’ve sworn off gentlemen forever, but Mr. Tall, Dark, and – need I say – Delicious is here again, and, unsurprisingly, he’s sitting in your section.”

  6. Like Dorothy in Oz, I definitely wasn’t in Indiana anymore. At least the Wicked Witch hasn’t shown up. Yet.

      1. Be safe, stay healthy and have a little adventure along the way – even if it’s through the pages of a book.

Quite here. Staying home. Reading and taking photos of the daily critter visitors. 🙂
