My first line this week is from Take a Chance on Me by Becky Wade:

  4. That’s a lovely cover! I’m curious to read your review of the book.

I’m currently reading Seven Brides of South Dakota series by Kari Trumbo. I will share the first line of Chapter Nine in the first book. “The bitter cold numbed her toes through her boots and wool stockings as Ruby rushed to the Moore house.” I wish you a relaxing and healthy weekend filled with good books.

  6. I’m reading AN AMISH CHRISTMAS KITCHEN. Since it consists of three novellas, I’ll give the first line of each.

The vase slipped through Noelle’s hand and shattered on the Kicha floor.
An Amish Family Christmas by Leslie Gould

Ada Weaver eyed the frozen puddle in front of the door of Heritage Amish Furniture, a stack of boxed baked goods balance in one hand, her key to the store in the other.
An Amish Christmas Recipe Box by Jan Drexler

The moment I saw the sign for Miller’s Quilts and Gifts through the onslaught of snow, my throat constricted as if I’d swallowed a handful of salt.

  8. Happy Friday! I’m sharing from The Story Peddler by Lindsay A. Franklin today. Here is the first line from chapter 3:

“It wasn’t easy to open the front door of my cottage with a bread bowl of stew in my hands and a jug of milk under one arm. But I managed.”

  9. Happy Friday!
Today on my blog I shared the first line from The Road to Paradise by Karen Barnett but right now I’m reading Labeling Lincoln by Stephenia H McGee so I’ll share the first line from chapter 2 here: George struggled to keep his composure as they led him deeper into the bowels of the prison.” Happy reading this weekend!
