His Encouragement #119

Welcome to His Encouragement Thursday! I don’t know about you, but Thursdays are my struggle day of the week. By Thursday, I have already been working hard at school and at home, and I just wish it would hurry up and be Friday already. LOL! I definitely need a little extra Jesus time on Thursdays.

Trisha, my blogger friend at Joy of Reading, and I decided on calling this post “His Encouragement” because our real source of peace, strength, and security can only come from Jesus Christ. He and He alone is our constant! We pray and hope that these Thursday posts become a real encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless!

Today’s Thursday Encouragement comes from:

Romans 8:28 (ESV)

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

For those of you who don’t know, I am a high school English teacher. From 6:30-3:00 pm, Monday-Friday, I am surrounded by all things teenager. On most days, it really is a good job … the job God made me for. However, on Tuesday afternoon, I was struggling.

On Tuesday, I witnessed something that could have serious consequences, and I am powerless to do anything to make it better. I reported everything to the necessary people, but because the teens who are involved are not my students and I have no parent contact and nothing bad has happened yet, the entire problem has been taken out of my hands. I do not have the certification or training to handle the situation, so I understand the problem being taken from me, but I was told that unless something very bad happens, there isn’t even anything the certified and trained people can do.

I’m super frustrated because it’s like watching a powder keg that’s sitting feet away from a fire — this situation may very well explode one day.

God is the Boss. I know this. I even accept that I did my part as the law requires and now I have to let it go. But I’m still struggling. I chose Romans 8:28 for today’s encouragement because, honestly, I needed the reminder. I needed to be reminded that God does EVERYTHING with a purpose. Nothing catches God by surprise. He knows the beginning from the end. And, His plans and purposes are for the GOOD of those who love Him.

I do not know what the future holds for these two kids, but God knows and that is good enough. God put me in a position to alert people to a potential problem. Things are in the works just in case. Now, I have to step back and trust God to work — and He will, for the good of ALL those who love Him.

NOW, IT’S YOUR TURN!

WHAT BIBLICAL VERSE IS ENCOURAGING YOU TODAY?

  1. Thank you for this thoughtful post. I believe God needs us to play our part in life, you did what you should do which was to alert others, now it is their turn. I hope the teens are ok, and we can pray for them.
