About the Book

Of course, there were days I regretted killing my father, things had not gone great since then.

Talk about a compelling first line!

Son of the Father is a novel about Barabbas. The Barabbas the Jews set free so that Jesus could be killed in his place. I’ve never read a novel about Barabbas before, so when I saw the book I knew I just had to read it. I know we can never really know this side of heaven what it must have been like for Barabbas on that fateful day he was set free from death, but it is a fascinating topic to ponder.

I am very excited to dive into this story. Check back soon for my full review!

  1. That does sound like an intriguing book.

The first line I’m sharing today is:
It was not the best hiding spot I had ever found, but it was, thankfully, proving quite effective.
Secrets and Suitors by Joanna Barker

  2. Devin Cole let his truck roll to a stop at the end of the lane, just short of the driveway to the family ranch. He slid his Narcotics Anonymous newcomers coin between his fingers and back again.

  3. Happy Friday! On my blog, I’m sharing the anthology Romancing the Rancher’s Daughter. Here I will share the first line in Chapter 21 in the second story, A Measure of Mercy by Debra E. Marvin. When dampness kept Witt’s shirt stuck to his back, and a much more feminine glisten shone on Addy’s brow, he motioned her away from the dance floor in favor of refreshments and a much-needed break. Have a wonderful weekend!

  4. Happy Friday! My first line is from “Cold Pursuit” by Gayla K. Hiss:

“Faith Chandler stared at the man walking in the distance.”

  5. Can’t wait to see your review!
Today on my blog I shared the first line from The Telegraph Proposal by Becca Whitham and Gina Welborn but I’m currently reading Aiming for Love by Mary Connealy so I’ll share the first line from my current chapter (7) here: “Jo turned back to Dave to see him shake his head.” Hope you have a wonderful weekend with plenty of quality reading time!
