About the Book
It was worse than she thought.
First, that cover! Isn’t it adorable?! I 100% admit that I checked out the synopsis of this book just because the cover is so stinkin cute. But then I read the back cover and knew I had to buy this book. It sounds so good! And then there’s that first line. Doesn’t it just scream, “Read Me!”? Oh, I am so excited to read this one!
Check back soon for my review. 😊❤️📚
I hope you have an excellent weekend filled with plenty of quality reading time.
NOW IT IS YOUR TURN!
GRAB THE BOOK YOU ARE CURRENTLY READING, OPEN TO CHAPTER ONE, AND POST THE FIRST SENTENCE (OR SECOND SENTENCE) IN THE COMMENTS BELOW.
THEN HEAD ON OVER TO HOARDING BOOKS TO SEE ALL OF THE FLF PAGES THIS WEEK (JUST CLICK ON THE FLF BUTTON BELOW).
Not my type of cover, actually. I think it’s funny how we each have our preferences. 🙂 I do like the first line, though. I clicked over to Goodreads and the premise sounds good so I added it to my TBR. Thanks! 🙂
Over on my blog I’m sharing the first line of Healing Hearts by Cindy Ervin Huff. It’s the first novella in The Cowboys novella collection. So here, I’ll share the first lines from the second novella in the collection, Becoming Brave by Jennifer Uhlarik:
Indian Territory, 1870
Five. Five Bodies.
Sweat snaked between Coy Whitaker’s shoulders as he stared over the crest of the hill at the ghastly scene below.

That first line does capture the attention of the reader. On my blog this week, I am featuring The Sheriff’s Surrender by Susan Page Davis. Since it’s my current read, I’ll share the first line of Chapter 13 here: The women showed up for shooting practice on Monday, counting Gert and Libby. Gert could barely trust her eyes.
Have a wonderful weekend and happy reading.

My first line is from Diamond in the Rough by Jen Turano:
N.Y. City November 1885
Any smidgen of hope that her entrance into N.Y. high society would be deemed a rousing success died the moment Miss Poppy Garrison’s tiara became firmly attached to the sleeve of her dance partner.
Congratulations on your 100th FLF!
I’m in the middle of The Spice King by Elizabeth Camden. Happy reading!

I love the cover, too! 😍 The book I shared on my blog today is You Belong With Me by Tari Faris, however the book I’m currently reading is Reunited in the Rockies by Mindy Obenhaus. I’m currently on chapter 12 so I’ll share that first line here. ” Jude could hardly wait to show Kayla the crib designs he’d sketched for her.”
I hope you have a nice weekend!

Here’s the first line from the last book to arrive at my house, The Gryphon Heist by James R. Hannibal. “Talia Inger clutched her side, letting her shoulder fall against the alley wall.”
