His Encouragement #78

Good morning, and welcome to His Encouragement Thursday! I don’t know about you, but Thursdays are my struggle day of the week. By Thursday, I have already been working hard at school and at home, and I just wish it would hurry up and be Friday already. LOL! I definitely need a little extra Jesus time on Thursdays.

Trisha, my blogger friend at Joy of Reading, and I decided on calling this post “His Encouragement” because our real source of peace, strength, and security can only come from Jesus Christ. He and He alone is our constant! We pray and hope that these Thursday posts become a real encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless!

Today’s Thursday Encouragement is going to be a little different. Today, I am sharing the ABC’s of Salvation.

Yesterday, while getting ready for work, I pressed play on my Bible study app ready to listen to God’s Word. I’m currently doing a Bible-in-a-year study, and the typical daily reading is 4-6 passages of great length. Imagine my surprise when yesterday’s study was one tiny Psalm. It was a great Psalm, don’t get me wrong, but I kind of felt like the air was let out of my sails. I was ready for an extended reading but got a few lines instead. You see, I get my inspiration for these Thursday posts from my Bible studies. When the Psalm finished I didn’t have the typical God-bumps I normally get that help me know the angle God wants me to take for my posts. So, I went to one of the pastors I listen to often, Pastor Billy Crone of Get A Life Ministries, for a little inspiration.

While I really appreciated the lesson Pastor Crone was discussing, I didn’t get God-bumps until he started talking about our salvation and the Good News of Jesus. That reminded me of the ABC’s of Salvation as discussed by another of my favorite pastors, Pastor JD Farag from Calvary Chapel Kaneohe. I immediately got the God-bumps and realized that I needed to share the ABC’s of Salvation because someone needs to hear it today. So, to the one who needs this saving knowledge, what follows is the ABC’s of Salvation.

A — Admit you are a sinner in need of a Savior.

Romans 3:10: “None is righteous, no, not one;”

Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”

Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

B — Believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord; Jesus Christ was crucified, buried, and rose again paying in full our death penalty for our sins.

Romans 10:9-10: “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.”

C — Call upon the name of the Lord.

Romans 10:9-10: “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.”

Romans 10:13: “For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

That’s it. Salvation really is as easy as A — B — C!

I hope this encourages you today. I really love this list because sometimes I’m sure I am lost for good. This easy-to-remember list reminds me that I am saved because I do believe Jesus came to save me from my sins, and I will proudly share this knowledge with anyone. Jesus saves and I am not ashamed to confess this.

  1. What a wonderful God we serve! He longs to save us from our sin. We only need to confess our sin, ask for forgiveness and He makes us clean. We sin daily, and yet He doesn’t give up on us. He is willing to forgive us if only we ask.
