His Encouragement #76

Good morning, and welcome to His Encouragement Thursday! I don’t know about you, but Thursdays are my struggle day of the week. By Thursday, I have already been working hard at school and at home, and I just wish it would hurry up and be Friday already. LOL! I definitely need a little extra Jesus time on Thursdays.

Trisha, my blogger friend at Joy of Reading, and I decided on calling this post “His Encouragement” because our real source of peace, strength, and security can only come from Jesus Christ. He, and He alone, is our constant! We pray and hope that these Thursday posts become a real encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless!

Today’s Thursday Encouragement comes from:

Psalm 17:6 (ESV)

I call upon You, for You will answer me, O God; incline Your ear to me; hear my words.

I love the Psalms. They calm me down, they reassure me, and they fill me with such hope and love. Psalm 17 is no exception.

I chose Psalm 17:6 as my encouraging verse today because I love the confidence David has in God. David knows that if he calls on God, God will hear his words and will answer him. I love this image of prayer between God and David being a personal, two-sided conversation. God doesn’t want an automaton. God wants us to come to Him confidently and willingly so we can have intimate conversation. What an encouraging thing to know that God wants this level of relationship with you and me! All we have to do is talk. God is there ready to listen and ready to give His advice.

Our God truly is an awesome God!
