The Deceived is a young adult novel that follows Danny Morton through his tumultuous first two years of high school. Man, does he make some stupid, teenage choices! I found this book to be quite a compelling story. It is fast-paced, highly engaging, and well written. I definitely recommend this read.

    Winnifred paused at the corner of South Wallace Street and 63rd and drew a ragged breath as she smoothed down the front of her flawless navy skirt, trying to summon her nerve and ignore her misgivings.

    1. You might want to read this one first, Vickie. This is part one of a series. It’s a Prodigal Son story. Book one is all prodigal. No redemption yet. Just letting you know because the main character is a bad boy!

      1. Thanks. I will pass the word to my daughter who carefully checks what her children read. She is a Christian homeschool teacher and would probably welcome a prodigal son allegory. Are the other parts available yet or just this first one?

    On my blog this week I shared the first line from Uninvited by Beckie Lindsay but I’m currently reading Vivir el Dream by Allison K Garcia (Yes, it’s written in *mostly* English but anything in Spanish shares a translation).
