An Interview with Sarah Monzon
I have the great privilege to be a part of Sarah’s Book Squad team, and asked if she would kindly respond to a few interview questions for me. She said, “YES!” What follows are Ms. Monzon’s candid responses. I hope you enjoy!
When did you know that writing was your gift?
Haha I’m still waiting to know this. Seriously though, self-doubt is a real thing and one I think most authors struggle with. I know I feel called to it, but not sure I could ever say I was “good enough” to say I’m gifted in it.
What inspired you to write Novelly Upon a Time?
The cover actually. I came across the cute vectors for the series and knew they’d make adorable covers that I just had to write stories for them.
So, Kate and Harper have adventures in research for their current WIPs. What is one crazy/silly thing you’ve done in the name of research?
Oh, man. I wish I had a funny anecdote to share for this question. So far my research has been fairly boring. Books, documentaries, and dozens upon dozens on tabs constantly open on my computer.
We women wear a lot of hats. How do you successfully juggle all of your hats?
Like a circus act. Haha. My daughter is in preschool so I write during that time and try to do any and all author related activities. Then the rest of the day is dedicated to my family and everything else.
What’s in store in the future for all your fans?
I’m starting on the final book in the Carrington Family series once the kids go back to school from break. Right now my mind is heavy in the brainstorming and research process. It should be out and in readers hands in the fall of 2019.
Thanks so much for all your candid answers, Sarah! I know I look forward to all your future novels and novellas. 😉 ❤️
Sounds like an interesting series. I may check it out!

They’re so cute, Sarah’s novellas. And, they are good, quick reads. Lots of good humor, too. 😀

What a cute premise. I do A LOT of research for my job and I think it would be fun to write historical novel. Great author interview!

Thank you! What time period would you write in? What’s your favorite?

I would write from 1700 to the early 1800s. I’m so worried that I would write badly or commit a historical anarchronjsm that i haven’t been brace enough to try.

Here’s my word of encouragement to you … you can’t fail if God’s put it on your heart to write. I very much enjoy your Thursday Encouragement posts. You are a good writer! Maybe God only wants you to write it for Him, so you can see your abilities through Him? I bet you’d write a great story!
