About the Book

Prologue

From his hard bed on the concrete floor, Will Sinclair heard his first sound of hope in four years.

Whoa! That first line screams, “Read Me!”

I am very excited to get to this book. One of the bloggers I follow reviewed this book and it sounded so good I had to buy the book immediately. Now, I just need a day to read it!!! Thank goodness for Christmas break!

Speaking of Christmas, I hope you and your families have a wonderful Christmas. May it be a restful, fun, and blessed day.

NOW IT IS YOUR TURN! GRAB THE BOOK YOU ARE CURRENTLY READING, OPEN TO CHAPTER ONE, AND POST THE FIRST SENTENCE (OR SECOND SENTENCE) IN THE COMMENTS BELOW. THEN HEAD ON OVER TO HOARDING BOOKS TO SEE ALL OF THE FLF PAGES THIS WEEK (JUST CLICK ON THE FLF BUTTON BELOW).

  1. “Speramus meliorism; resurget cineribus. We hope for better things; it will rise from the ashes. -Detroit city motto”. Who knew?!? This is the intro to the book WE HOPE FOR BETTER THINGS by Erin Bartels. I received an ARC from Revell and this is an awesome book!

  2. Great first line! Here’s the first line from Secrets at Cedar Cabin by Colleen Coble — “Bailey Fleming glanced out her patient’s window into the parking lot, but the swirling snow obscured all but the dim glow of the streetlamp.”

    Have a wonderful Christmas!

  3. That first line certainly does pull you in. On my blog, I am featuring Lady Jayne Disappears by Joanna Davidson Politano. Since it’s also my current read, I will share the first line from the 28th chapter: “I watched the moon from my window that night, knees tucked to my chest as I curled into the wingback chair.” I wish you a joy-filled Merry Christmas!

  4. Happy Friday!

My first lines come from Tin God by Stacy Green….

“That’s impossible.” Jaymee’s stomach lurched and then spiraled to her toes. The meager window air conditioner in the manager’s trailer did nothing for her constricted lungs. She shifted as the torn plastic of the junky folding chair cut into the back of her thigh. “My boyfriend–ex-boyfriend–paid the rent. I gave him the money last week.”

Have an awesome weekend and Happy Holidays!😊🎄💕

  5. Happy Friday!
This week I’m sharing from Castle on the Rise by Kristy Cambron (I have an ARC… doesn’t release until Feb 2019), but it’s also the book I’m currently reading so I’ll share the first line from my current chapter (18) here: “Maeve had just put down her quill to close the estate ledger when the alarm bell clanged outside.” Hope you have the chance to get some reading in this weekend and have a very Merry Christmas! 🙂

  6. Merr Christmas!
My first line is from Mind Games by Nancy Mehl: ( a fabulous book)

He stood in the middle of his secret room, staring at walls covered with old newspaper clippings.
