His Encouragement #59

Good morning, and welcome to His Encouragement Thursday! I don’t know about you, but Thursdays are my struggle day of the week. By Thursday, I have already been working hard at school and at home, and I just wish it would hurry up and be Friday already. LOL! I definitely need a little extra Jesus time on Thursdays.

Trisha, my blogger friend at Joy of Reading, and I decided on calling this post “His Encouragement” because our real source of peace, strength, and security can only come from Jesus Christ. He, and He alone, is our constant! We pray and hope that these Thursday posts become a real encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless!

Today’s Thursday Encouragement comes from:

Isaiah 41:10 (ESV)

Fear not, for I Am with you; be not dismayed, for I Am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

God really packs a positive punch with this verse!

I want to unpack this verse concept by concept so we can really see just how AMAZING Yahweh truly is.

  1. God is with us. Think about that. The Creator of the known and unknown universes wants to be with us. He wants to be so near us NOTHING can be scary. He is bigger than the scariest thing. He makes fear scared!
  2. God WILL strengthen us. No matter who we are, no matter the situation we find ourselves in today, God promises to make us strong in Him. If we are in Him, we cannot possibly be weak. The world may see us as weak and worthless, but to Yahweh we are His and He will strengthen us. We are supernaturally buff!
  3. God WILL help us. Are you going through a tough time right now? Are you scared, worried, anxious? Do you feel like everything you try to do turns to nothing? Have you turned it all over to God? Because IF you do, He promises to HELP!!! The answer may not look like what you want it to, but God will help. He promises us His help. We just need to go to Him.
  4. He WILL uphold us with His righteous right hand. “Uphold” means to support. The best way God has shown us His support is by sending His Son to this earth to suffer, die, and raise again for us. And, where does Jesus stand in Heaven? At the right hand of the Father: “Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us” (Romans 8:34). Why is this amazing? Because at God’s right hand, Jesus is constantly talking to His Father on our behalf. When I really think about that, I just can’t help but feel so much awe. God thinks about us every second of every day. If that doesn’t scream “SUPPORT” I don’t know what does!

I’m going to end this encouragement post today with one of my MOST favorite worship songs ever — How Great Thou Art. It is the closest thing in human words that expresses God’s amazingness.

I hope you all have a blessed Thursday!
