I am still in bed, languishing in that lovely state between dreaming and wakefulness, when the note arrives.

So, that cover! Isn’t is gorgeous?!

The cover alone makes me want to dive into this book immediately, which is exactly what I’m going to do as soon as I finish this post. I adore everything about this cover — the color scheme, the model, the picture included at the bottom. It’s a breathtaking cover.

I met Lynn Austin at the Fiction Readers Summit last May. Trisha from Joy of Reading and I got to have lunch with Lynn and Jocelyn Green. It was surreal and amazing and intimidating all at once. Both Jocelyn and Lynn told us such amazing stories about all kinds of topics. When lunch was over, I felt like I had made some real friendships! Now, when I pick up a book by Lynn or Jocelyn I feel like I’m part of their teams, and really feel the drive to make others aware of their fabulous stories and writing talents. I very much look forward to my time with Legacy of Mercy!

  1. Today at my blog, I featured the first line of Beth Revis’ latest release, Give the Dark My Love. Here, though, I will be sharing the first line of my next read, Broken Things by Lauren Oliver.

    It is about a great earthquake in Charleston, South Carolina , August 30, 1886.

  11. What a wonderful experience! I’m sharing from an upcoming read, The Love Letter by Rachel Hauck, over on my blog today. Here are the first lines from the prologue, set during the American Revolution:

  13. How fun that you got to meet the author of the book and have lunch with her! And, yes, the cover is lovely. On my blog, I’m featuring the book I just finished reading, “The Awakening” by Tamara Leigh. Here I will share the first line from the book I’m currently reading, “The Unwanted Suitor” by Michelle Pennington. There is a prologue, but I’ll share the first line from Chapter 1. “Cornelia Greystone glanced at the ormolu clock that graced the wall over her dressing table and her whole body tensed with urgency.” Have a wonderful weekend!
