About the Book

Prologue

Twenty-one Years Earlier

“It’s time to go, sweetie.”

Jaime shook her head. Words collided in her throat, releasing in a squeak of protest.

I love Cara Putman’s novels so much. Her stories are some of the best, and I am so excited to read Delayed Justice. If you have not read the Hidden Justice series yet, I highly recommend that you do.

What about you?! Are you a fan of Cara’s novels? If yes, what’s your favorite book?

  1. I’ll be reading this one soon!

I’m featuring ‘Shadow Sister’ by Katherine Scott Jones on my blog today, but right now I’ve just started reading ‘The Raveling’ by Tamara Leigh. At last! I’ve been waiting to find the time to read this one!!

“He had lost a son he had not known he had–providing the child was his.”

    Have a great weekend!

  2. Ok, I’m about to reveal something shocking… you might want to sit down! I’ve never read a Cara Putman book. Shocking, I know! She’s on my list of Authors to read! Oh, so many books! This one sounds like quite the page-turning story!

  3. My first line is from Redemption at Shadow Lake by J.E. Grace
An attractive man in his early thirties with deeply disturbed eyes stands in the shadows.

We all seem to be reading suspense this week! I have read Cara a bit but want to read more!

    1. It must be the season for suspense!!! I wonder if book publishers really do put out books of certain genres in certain seasons…huh! Hope you enjoy your book, Paula. 😀📚

  4. I actually have that book and it’s on my pile of need to read books. 🙂

    THE CATS CAME BACK
    by Sofie Kelly
The body was on the front seat of my truck, about halfway between the passenger door and the cloth grocery bad I’d left in the middle of the seat.

  5. I’m a big fan of legal thrillers, and this is definitely on my to-read pile!

I’m sharing the first line from Justice by Emily Conrad on my blog today. It was an unexpected read – the cover gave me the impression it was a historical romance, but it was most definitely a contemporary.

    1. I’m sorry the book tricked you, but did you enjoy it? Those are some of my favorite books…the ones I normally wouldn’t read, but accidentally do and love! 😀

  6. Happy Friday!😊

My first lines come from a book I will be reading shortly, Unleashed by Donna Kauffman.

Emma Lafferty’s life had gone to the dogs. Literally. And to the cats. And the parakeets, goldfish, hamsters, even the occasional potbelly pig. What it and her fledgling pet-sitting service hadn’t gone to was her bank account. Not enough, anyway.

Have a great weekend and happy reading!😊📚💖

  7. I haven’t actually read any of Cara Putman’s books . . . yet. 😉 I have one of her titles on my TBR list for October. 🙂

Over on my blog today, I’m sharing the first line from Lynnette Bonner’s High Desert Haven. Here, I’ll share one of my favorite lines from Crossed Out by Christina Coryell (her contribution to the Once Upon A Laugh novella collection):

Kids at yard sales were nearly impossible to corral. Grandmas watching kids at yard sales were like wild mustangs, throwing caution and endless quarters to the wind.

  8. I haven’t read any of Cara Putman’s legal thrillers (I think I read a historical long ago), but this sounds intriguing!

I’m sharing the first line of “A Worthy Rebel” on my blog today. I’ll share the first line of my current read, Sarah Loudin Thomas’s “A Shot at Love,” here: “Fleeta hunkered low, careful not to rattle the crisp fallen leaves all around her.”

  9. I haven’t read anything by Cara, but I think I would like her books!

Here’s the first line from All of You by Sarah Monzon, my current read. “Lieutenant Michael “Finch” Carrington pulled up the zipper of his green flight suit and stared at the mass on the opposite rack.”

  10. I’ve not read any books by this author yet. I’m not posting a First Line Friday this week because I simply don’t have time. I just became a great-aunt yesterday and am entertaining family from out of time. Some things are simply more important than reading. This is one of them. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

  11. I’m featuring lines from Danielle Norman’s upcoming release Roadster on my blog.

Here, I’m sharing lines from Keira Montclair’s Falling for the Chieftan. It’s her new historical time travel romance.

“Allison Sutton’s feet hit water as she plunged into the murky liquid at the base of the cascading falls.”

    Happy Reading!
