Good morning, and welcome to His Encouragement Thursday! I don’t know about you, but Thursdays are my struggle day of the week. By Thursday, I have already been working hard at school and at home, and I just wish it would hurry up and be Friday already. LOL! I definitely need a little extra Jesus time on Thursdays.
Trisha, my blogger friend at Joy of Reading, and I decided on calling this post “His Encouragement” because our real source of peace, strength, and security can only come from Jesus Christ. He, and He alone, is our constant! We pray and hope that these Thursday posts become a real encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless!
Today’s Thursday Encouragement comes from:
Jeremiah 31:25 (ESV)
For I will satisfy the weary soul, and every languishing soul I will replenish.
Today’s encouragement is just that — encouragement. Isn’t this verse lovely? God knows that on this earth we get tired. But “weary” isn’t just tired like you need a nap and then you’ll be fine. “Weary” is a bone-tired exhaustion. God knows that things will happen to us while on this earth that can make our souls utterly exhausted.
BUT, He has the cure. We just need to go to Him. He will satisfy. He will replenish. And, it’s totally true. Every time I’m soul weary, physically exhausted, and/or at a point of extreme emotion, I know I need to go to my Bible. I pray that God grants me His peace, and then I read His Word. About half-way through the reading I begin to notice that the tiredness, the emotion, the weariness is beginning to melt away. There’s something about being in the Word that has such a calming effect. God is so good to give us that outlet.
So, today if you are struggling with something that seems BIG and it is making you soul tired, I implore you to visit God’s Word today. He promises He will satisfy and replenish you — He will take that weariness away.
NOW, IT’S YOUR TURN!

Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The LORD, the LORD himself, is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation. With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.

I agree. It is wonderful. I have been struggling hard in my walk lately. Honestly, I just want to sleep for like a decade. Instead, my life is telling me I can’t rest at all, so I’ve become sort of hard. I don’t mean to be, but my fuse is so small. I just need a break, and I’m not sure how to get one. This verse has spoken to me this week, but it’s still hard. I want so badly to lash out for all the bad that’s been going on, but then I feel guilty. I need this replenishment that God talks about. Sorry, I just sort of dumped that on you…it just came out!
