I adore Tessa Afshar’s novels! She is one of the best Biblical fiction authors in today’s market. I am so excited to get to read Thief of Corinth. And, what a fabulous couple of lines to begin this book. They definitely make me want to keep on reading and find out why the main character is a thief.

    I loved Beth’s first three books and have been waiting for another to come along! So far, it’s proving intriguing.

    I’m featuring the first line from ‘A Solace of Water’ by Elizabeth Byler Younts this week, but as Ronie Kendig has just released the new and revised edition of Wolfsbane (one of my all-time favourite books!) I’m going to share the first line of that here:

    1. I just got asked to read A Solace of Water to review. I’m very intrigued by that book. It sounds really good. I haven’t yet gotten into any Kendig novels. One day when I have time. Thanks for sharing!!! I hope you are having an excellent weekend.

    Bruce fumbled behind his ears, adjusted the elastic band necessary to hold his Santa Claus beard in place. His salt-and-pepper hair was mostly white around temples, the only places not covered by a traditional Santa hat, so he fit the part well.

  8. I need to read a Tessa Afshar book, there’s one on my shelf but I just need to read it! I just finished reading A Defense of Honor by Kristi Ann Hunter… “Graham, the Viscount Wharton, heir to the earldom of Grableton, pride of the Cambridge fencing team, coveted party guest, and generally well-liked member of both Brook’s and White’s, was bored.”

She has a way of bringing the Bible to life in such a way that your relationship with Jesus grows infinitely. It’s amazing. Hope you are having a great weekend!

      1. I am, thank you! Five of the grands here and 5 of our 6 children & their spouses here for the weekend. Dorothy’s book is one of the last LIH books, and I’m really enjoying it.

  16. Keeper by Jessica L. Randall

    “I picked up speed, as if I could somehow leave the eerie feeling of being watched behind me.”

    I loved this read and I actually asked the author if she was doing a sequel because left off with something more to look forward too. It was very clean read, plenty of action, and sweet budding romance. It is even nominated for a swoony award.
