Good morning, and welcome to His Encouragement Thursday! I don’t know about you, but Thursdays are my struggle day of the week. By Thursday, I have already been working hard at school and at home, and I just wish it would hurry up and be Friday already. LOL! I definitely need a little extra Jesus time on Thursdays.
Trisha, my blogger friend at Joy of Reading, and I decided on calling this post “His Encouragement” because our real source of peace, strength, and security can only come from Jesus Christ. He, and He alone, is our constant! We pray and hope that these Thursday posts become a real encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless!
Today’s Thursday Encouragement comes from:
Psalm 23:4 (ESV)
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff they comfort me.
It has been a CRAZY week for me. As I sit on my couch typing this post, thinking about what this week has been packed with, and knowing I still have two more days to go, I’m feeling a little overwhelmed. I feel disconnected from God. It is 100% my fault. I let my life get so busy this week that I don’t have the downtime I usually have each night to connect to Him. I’ve said “Yes” to so many people that I’ve allowed myself to say “No, God, not right now. I’m too busy.” And, now, I’m hurting. I feel like I am floundering and I need to get back on track.
I was reading Psalm 23 last night and took GREAT comfort from the verses. This Psalm tells me that God is with me no matter what. He is there to guide me through thick and thin. I have no reason to fear because God is with me. Psalm 23 also explains that God will lead me and restore my soul. Today, I really need to lean into the words of this beautiful Psalm. I need to trust in God’s lead, and fear no more. I need to give to God all the multitudinous things in my life that are currently overwhelming me. I need to rest in Him so He can restore me.
What a fantastic, remarkable, loving, gracious God we all serve!
Now, it’s your turn!

I hate it when I get like that, feel like I’m saying yes to the world and forgetting to say yes to the one who created the world!! Thanks for this 🙂
