I think that maybe Johanna and I are kindred sisters. Numbers are the death of me, too!

I am about 1/3 of the way done with this novel, and I can already highly recommend it. The characters are very well written, the intrigue is just enough to keep me guessing, and there is quite a bit of action that is keeping me turning pages late into the night! And, that cover! Isn’t Johanna lovely?

For those of you who are Michelle Griep fans, you will be familiar with a couple characters from Brentwood’s Ward as they show up throughout this book. No worries if you haven’t read Brentwood’s Ward though. The Innkeeper’s Daughter reads as a stand-alone story.

    I have the first line from Sondra Kraak’s new release, Three Words and a Kiss, on my blog today, but right now I’m going to share the first two lines from my current read, ‘Justice’ by Emily Conrad, which releases on 9 March:

    “Snow floated onto Main Street, each flake large enough to catch the breeze like a parachute. A miniature army, launching a surprise invasion on March first.”

    The aroma of sweat and coconut shampoo filled the room, bringing to mind a tropical sweat lodge. I paced the outside of the rubber mat, casting wary looks at my opponent.

  15. Haha. I sometimes think that way about numbers and figures. I remember reading ‘Brentwood’s Ward’, what was it, three years ago now? Although I liked the story, there were a few things that ruined it for me in the end. I do have this one from NetGalley and hope they have not come up again.
