Good morning, and welcome to this first edition of His Encouragement! My fellow blogger friend, Trisha Robertson of Joy of Reading, and I decided we wanted to begin a weekly blog post that offers Biblical encouragement. Every Thursday, be on the look out for a new Biblical verse and a little discussion of hope and encouragement. And, if you are willing, join in the conversation by adding your daily verse of encouragement as well.
I don’t know about you, but Thursdays are my struggle day of the week. By Thursday, I have already been working hard at school and at home, and I just wish it would hurry up and be Friday already. LOL! I definitely need a little extra Jesus time on Thursdays. Trisha and I decided on calling this post “His Encouragement” because our real source of peace, strength, and security can only come from Jesus Christ. He, and He alone, is our constant! We pray and hope that these Thursday posts become a real encouragement to you and help you end your week strong in God’s love and purpose for you. God bless!
Today’s Thursday encouragement comes from:
Lamentations 3: 25-26
“The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him. It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.”
The words that jump right out at me from these verses are GOOD, WAIT, and QUIETLY. God is GOOD all the time. God loves me, and you, so much that He gave His beloved Son up as THE sacrifice so that we wouldn’t have to experience the punishment we deserve. That, to me, is unequivocal proof that God is GOOD. This part of the verses is very encouraging to me on this Thursday morning!
WAIT and QUIETLY are the words that I struggle with a bit. My personality type struggles with quiet waiting. I talk. I complain. I praise. I question. I go, go, go. For me, seeking is the easy part. I love my prayer time, my worship time, and my Bible study time. I got the seeking part down! But the quietly waiting part?! These verses are a great reminder for me today that the salvation of the Lord IS coming. God’s plans are happening as He designed. I needed this reminder to be still and wait on the Lord. He is so truly worth the wait!
Good morning, Nicole! I really like this Bible verse you shared today. It is a wonderful reminder that we need to stay close to God, and rest in Him. Not rush ahead, but wait. Thank you for sharing it!

This verse has been rolling around in my brain for days: “… being CONFIDENT of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 1:6. (emphasis mine)

Good morning! I love the verse you shared today. It reminds me of a verse I keep at my desk at work (Psalm 46:10). A little reminder to pause and reflect on the enormity of who God is and yet He loves and cares for me and all the little things that I face every day.

Thank you for sharing! I do love that verse. Sometimes I struggle with pausing and being still though. 😊

Psalm 46:10 is my life verse. I hope it encourages you as much as it does me. 🙂

I love that verse. I have trouble sometimes with the still part though, I will admit. 😊
